If you don’t get to them until your regular laundry day, most will present a challenge. That sure beats a new washer at over $800, though! The best time to treat oily, greasy stains in fabrics is when they’re fresh. Now, it did take the guy 2-3 hours to fix so our total bill was $275. Clean any removable parts by washing with hot water and dishwashing liquid. It is equally important to keep the bleach dispenser clean. Her recommendation was to clean the washer by running a quart of bleach through the longest cycle followed by running a quart of white vinegar through another cycle. I happened to be reading the Queen of Clean's Laundry Tips book the other day and she talked about clear, grease-like stains from mineral deposit build-up. If I'm not mistaken, we recently replaced the transmission in the washer. Thank you VERY much for responding to my problem.
